Be Active – agile working gives you the ability to be much more mobile within the office and work in the location most appropriate for the task at hand. This will allow you to be more active during the day, which in turn will help you stay alert and productive.
Take regular breaks and socialise with your colleagues over coffee and lunch – do not be tempted to eat at your desk, it makes you less, not more, productive.
- If your office building has gym equipment, why not take a half hour break and hit the treadmill?
- 7 and a half hours of good, alert, productive work is better than 8 and a half (or more) when you are feeling tired, sluggish and lacking in energy.
It is no surprise that the rise in obesity and cancer rates in the west mirrors the rise in more sedentary behaviour in the office and at home.
