Be Comfortable – You may be working in different locations from day to day. It is important you get yourself comfortable and are able to set up your working environment quickly so you don’t lose time and don’t strain yourself.
Learn how to adjust the chair to the settings that suit you best, sit square to the desk or working area and try not to hunch especially when using a laptop.
- If screens and keyboards are made available then learn how to adjust them and use them properly.
- Avoid spending prolonged periods of time in the same seating position; go for short walks around the office to avoid stiffness and aches and pains.
Neglecting to do these simple tasks can result in long term health problems. Don’t be afraid to ask your organisations occupational health team for advice; it is important to sit comfortably.
