Pernod Ricard

Pernod Ricard are a multinational company headquartered in France that produce alcoholic beverages for sale globally.  They have a considerable portfolio of internationally recognised brands a number of which are featured in the global top 100 wines and spirits.

Within this country, Pernod Ricard UK are accountable for bringing their brands to British consumers.  Historically they have had an estate primarily located  in London across a number of locations.


Utilisation of Space

Pernod Ricard UK were working in the UK at an office over 2 floors at 12 Chiswick Place, and additionally 2 floors at a location in Hammersmith. They had committed to relocating from these offices to one location in Chiswick Park and needed to understand whether it was possible, how the various teams and brands would fit, what space was currently being utilised for furniture and filing / storage, and how they could utilise the new space in the most effective and efficient manner.


Developing a future workspace

Baker Stuart were commissioned to undertake furniture and filing / storage audits using their FileLOOK™ and AssetLOOK™ tools. The full project was conducted over a 4 week period and the surveys included looking at the following:

  • All paper filing across the 2 locations
  • Logging all storage room contents including marketing materials, samples and the staff shop, as well as roller and racking / high density filing
  • Recommendations for reduction and digitisation of filing and rationalisation of product and marketing storage
  • Grouping all products and categorising them by type
  • Ensuring that all artwork was catalogued with detailed photographs
  • Understanding of storage space and the frequency with which products are used
  • All storewall elements as well as all office and breakout area

All findings were then collated and presented as both PDFs and in our online portal.

  • Saving of 916 linear metres of storage across locations – this equated to a total saving of 305 cabinets
  • Annual cost saving of over £230,000 in saved space
  • Understanding of storage space and the frequency with which products are used
  • Significant reuse of furniture in the new facility saving approximately £0.5m
